What ALTAIR stands for and how we think about travel luggage.
A suitcase that lasts beyond the journey
ALTAIR began with a simple observation: most suitcases are either cheap and last two years, or they last longer and cost four times what their materials and manufacture justify.
We wanted to bring the two together: an aluminium shell, dependable wheels, a lock that closes properly, and a price without the margins of four middlemen built into it.
Why aluminium
Aluminium is not the easiest material. It costs more to work with than polycarbonate, and it scratches.
But it does not crack. Once a plastic shell has cracked, it is finished. An aluminium shell gets a dent — and carries on. After a few years, an aluminium suitcase does not look old; it looks used. There is a difference.
If you want a suitcase that stays immaculate, aluminium is not for you. If you want one that will still roll in ten years, it is.

We sell exclusively through our own website. No middlemen, no shop rents, no retail margin added to the final price.
That is also why delivery takes 5 to 15 working days rather than two. We do not keep costly stock in every region. We would rather be open about that trade-off than hide it in the small print.

We are not a century-old workshop, and we do not pretend to be. We are a small team selling a good product at a fair price and staying available when something goes wrong.
